Background - How did Philly Jenkins Rescue Rescue Cheese?
A local woman from Turlock rescued Cheese and his two litter mates on the side of the road after his mother was hit by a vehicle and passed away at three weeks of age. He and his litter mates were brought to the Stanislaus Animal Shelter in Modesto, California. Cheese was scheduled for euthanasia on 7/11/2024 but was rescued and transferred to Philly Jenkins Rescue by the Stanislaus Animal Shelter.
Philly Jenkins Rescue is on a mission to save at-risk cats with high medical needs from euthanasia. Cheese, who, along with his litter mates, was rescued just two hours before they were scheduled to be euthanized. These adorable kittens suffered from an Upper Respiratory infection, were infested with fleas, and were underweight. Thanks to Philly Jenkins Rescue, they received the medical care they desperately needed and are now on their way to a full recovery.
