Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
“Cats come into your house to teach you about affection." This makes us think of our lovely Apple.
Apple is three years old and is such a beauty! Her silky, soft orange coat has snow white markings and is perfect for petting.
Apple may be a bit shy at first, but once you pick her up, she melts into your arms like the sweetest cuddle buddy. She has a knack for finding cozy hiding spots but is making wonderful progress in trusting humans. Apple loves chin scratches and is starting to enjoy sitting on laps—a sure sign that she’s opening up to love. Apple would thrive in a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands the needs of shy cats. When she’s scared, she’s not aggressive; instead, she’ll simply retreat to a safe spot. In her foster home, she’s made remarkable progress—she went from staying in her crate to confidently exploring her space and becoming more social every day.
Apple’s journey to safety is a touching one. She was found in a field with her husband, Steve, and their son, Stevie, where a kind-hearted community member began caring for them. Now, Apple is ready for a forever home where she can feel secure and loved. Apple is FIV+. She can live with other cats as long as she is in a structured environment where all the cats get along.
If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who just needs a little patience to blossom, Apple is your girl! Could Apple be the apple of your eye?

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!
All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
