My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rerun is a young, neutered male Border Collie who was rescued from the Apple Valley Shelter. On his first day out of the shelter, his foster dad took him on a big hike, and Rerun handled it like a seasoned pro.

Although Rerun doesn’t have a strong herding instinct typical of Border Collies, he loves playing with other dogs around his size. He can be a bit shy around larger dogs and takes some time to trust them. Rerun has excellent recall and comes when called.

He shares a special bond with his foster mate, Twiggy (https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/42773871-forest-falls-california-husky-australian-cattle-dog-mix). While they came from different shelters and aren’t considered bonded, they are best friends, and we’d love to see them adopted together. Rerun would thrive in a home with another playful dog his size or with an active person who has time to spend with him.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Whether a potential adopter meets the dog at an adoption event or sees them online, we need an adoption application to begin the process

2.
Interview

The second step is a phone call so I can tell the adopter all about the dog, and find out more about their lifestyle.

3.
Home Check

The most important step! All members of the house hold need to be there. I check the yard and the home.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We let them know we will keep the dog chipped to us and that if they can't keep the dog, he/she comes back to us. Adoption fee is collected

5.
Take the Pet Home

We check in with a couple days, a couple weeks and a month after they adopt to make sure the dog is adjusting well and give any help needed
