My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“In every heart of a dog, there’s a space filled with unrivaled, unconditional love.” Our wonderful Ben has so much love to give the family lucky enough to take him home. If you want to adopt a medium sized dog, he could be the one.

Why we love him: Ben's exuberant, happy go lucky personality truly brightens our days!

Ben is one year old and weighs 31 pounds. He is so handsome with his shiny black and tan coat, and his merry brown eyes reflect his joy for life!

Ben's happy doggie face looks like he is smiling at you, and you can't help smile back! He is so sweet and affectionate and we truly enjoy spending time with him.

Ben is a congenial, enthusiastic companion on daily walks and enjoys exploring the beautiful trails on our shelter grounds. He would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. He is very curious and interested in his surroundings.

Ben also has a great time running and playing in the fenced yard, and it's a great outlet for his energy. He is so agile and athletic.

Ben loves being around people of all ages and enjoys being petted and cuddled.

He is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him.

Ben has had so much fun in play groups with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

Take Ben home and the fun and loyalty are guaranteed!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
