My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holly is a lovely little lady with a heart of gold. Originally rescued by Peter Zippi as a tiny kitten at the end of 2020, Holly was adopted by a kind lady in January 2021 and was thought to have found her forever home. However, life took an unexpected turn, and after three years, Holly returned to us in January 2024.

Adjusting to this change wasn't easy for Holly, but thanks to the care and support of a devoted foster home, she has truly blossomed. Initially reserved, Holly has grown into a loving and affectionate companion. She now actively seeks out love and attention, reveling in full-body massages and belly rubs. Her trust has returned, and she even follows her foster to the kitchen at mealtime, chirping with excitement and encouragement.

Holly has also become comfortable with her foster's husband, allowing him to shower her with pets and affection. While there are still some hisses between Holly and the resident cat, they are making progress, and mealtime together has helped them grow closer.

At just four years young, Holly's playful spirit remains intact. Though she prefers to sleep on her tree near her humans rather than on the couch with them, her presence is always felt, and her company is cherished.

Holly's journey highlights the importance of patience, love, and understanding. She's now ready to find a forever home with someone who appreciates her resilience and will continue to nurture the trust and affection she's rediscovered. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will reward your care with devotion and warmth, Holly is the perfect match.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

Why Choose Peter Zippi?

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, we're not just about adoptions; we're about creating lifelong connections between our feline friends and loving families. Our Adoption Counselors are dedicated to making your adoption experience joyful and memorable.

*We often offer hard-to-place and special needs cats.*

At Peter Zippi, we believe that kittens under 5 months of age thrive best with a feline companion. To ensure their happiness and healthy development, we adopt kittens in pairs or to homes with an age-appropriate resident cat. Growing up with another cat helps kittens learn social skills, provides essential companionship, and encourages active play. We appreciate your understanding and support in giving our kittens the best start in life!

Thank you for considering adopting from Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, where every cat's journey to a forever home begins with support from the community.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
