My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katya and Phoebe are the cutest pair. Their dynamic is that of mom and daughter even though they are not related by blood. We would love to see them find a home together so they can continue to find comfort in eachother just as they have in foster.

They love to snuggle and Momma Katya loves to groom Phoebe and keep her entertained. They are both snuggly and sweet with their foster mom and her resident cats.

* Katya has been waiting for her forever home since May 2023 *

Meet Miss Katarina (Katya for short). Katerina is a 3~4-year-old, 6-pound female cat from the TOH shelter.

She came to us from a shelter in Long Island with a hard past. She was adopted to a temporary forever home and re-surrendered with a bad infected eye and a distrust for people. We are unsure what happened but we’re more than happy to take her back and nurture her back to a healthy life. After returning to the shelter and then reentering the foster care she is thriving and has come out of her shell.

In addition to her lone eye, she has teeth which make her tongue her favorite accessory. She will normally have it on display and it is absolutely hilarious.

She is sweet and shy at first but loves a good belly rub. She is flirty and docile and will always roll over to let you know she is ready for a good cuddle. She will lay next to you or behind you on the back of the couch and watch TV with you. She also loves a good nap and sunbathing session. She loves wand and catnip toys and will keep herself entertained. When petting her around the face, be sure she can see your hand first, she gets a little spooked when you pet her in her blind spot.

She has grown to be a loving foster momma to the kittens who have come and gone through her foster home while she still patiently waits for her forever family to scoop her up. Phoebe is, by far, her favorite of the kittens that have come into her foster home and she would love to be adopted with her as a pair.

Phoebe is the sweetest little lady. She is about 8 weeks old and is not afraid to take the world by storm. When she first got to her foster home, she instantly climbed into her foster moms lap and purred until she dropped. She also decided that it was her world and her foster siblings were just living in it.

She loves other cats and loves to play at all hours of the day. She particularly loves her stuffies and carries them around in her mouth to her next destination. She LOVES food. She will scream like she has never had a meal in her life when she knows her bowl is being cleaned. And she loves a good snuggle.

Phoebe and Katya would do well with any cats and could do well with a mellow dog with a proper controlled intrduction.

Katya is vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, Neutered, FeLV / FIV negative, and microchipped. Phoebe is microchipped, FeLV / FIV negative, and vaccinated for FVRCP. She will need neuter and rabies vaccination when of age.

To apply for Katerina and Phoebe, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue.

STEP 1: Apply!
Download and complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION from www.waggytailrescue.org/adopt-a-waggytail

STEP 2: The Meet and Greet!
We strongly suggest the ALL members of the household come to the meet and greet. This is the time to determine whether a dog's personality is match for you, your family and your other animals, and if you have allergies. If everything goes well you may adopt the same day, or take a day or two to decide, but we cannot indefinitely hold dogs in foster care for you.

STEP 3: Contract and Donation!
Fill out and sign the TRANSFER AGREEMENT.

The DONATION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred!
You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks.
If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.
