SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Murphy is a wonderful puppy! Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet and playful. He came to us recently from a central NC shelter. Clearly at some point he was someone's beloved pet as he has good leash manners and already knows a few commands. At just 10 months he is 25 pounds, so is unlikely to become much larger, making him a perfect size for most homes. This border collie mix has beautiful blue eyes, is very happy, and incredibly smart. Border collies are among the most intelligent breeds making great companions, agility dogs, and therapy dogs. Murphy is waiting patiently for a family to love and cherish him. He is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter who loves sloppy kisses, excessive tag wags, and changing the world for a loving dog! A home with fenced, secure yard is a required.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Murphy as well as our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting for you and your family to meet him at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
