My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our sweet and beautiful Izzy couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she may try. Izzy is a 10 month old, 42 lb Schnauzer / Poodle mix (Schnoodle) that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life.

The Schnoodle mix has has grown in popularity as an excellent family dog tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their engaging, very loving temperaments, intelligence, cottony-soft non-shedding coats and easygoing personalities. Farfel's makes an effort to rescue as many Schnoodles in need as possible with the confidence that they'll be sweet and loving family members. Izzy has all these wonderful traits and is described by her Texas foster as pretty close to PERFECT!

Izzy's foster had the following to brag about sweet Izzy: Izzy has been doing fabulously well at my house. She's doing great with my dogs, chickens (amazing but true!) & kids. She's house trained, goes inside her kennel with no issues, alerts us when she needs to use the restroom, and happily sleeps inside her kennel or with us. She actually slept with my two kids, my dogs and myself last night with no issues at all. She is nothing but positive energy, tail wags and always happy to meet new people. She freely roams my house and gets along perfectly with both of my dogs, all family members and anyone who drops into my home to just visit. She has been by far the easiest foster I've ever had the pleasure of helping along to a new life.

Izzy has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all, Izzy doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Izzy is just a young girl, she's a blank slate open to all behavioral possibilities if treated kindly and with respect.

Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Izzy and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have this sweet as can be pup become a loving companion that is well-behaved in almost all situation (she's pretty close right now!). It also creates strong bonds of love and respect between dog and family.

Izzy, while initially a bit shy due to all the changes in her life, tends to be a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together, and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Izzy gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people's side for belly rubs and kind words.

Izzy loves to come along for a fun hike, a day of fetch in the park or just socializing at home will speak to this sweet girl's love of her family, Izzy would always love to be there as a best friend and partner. She has such a pleasant personality and is kind and low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere.

Izzy wouldn't be happy spending the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home alone. She is far too people-oriented to be happy with that arrangement. A retiree or a younger family that works from a home-based office would be a great choice. Izzy would love the periodic belly rubs, walks and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'll also learn that she's always loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog.

Izzy has a gorgeous coat that was shaved down due to being shelter-sad. It's clear that her non-shedding coat will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 10 weeks or so) and excellent nutrition, A five star food and a daily salmon oil supplement will bring Izzy's coat back to the cottony-soft and shining coat that is consistent with her breed mix.

Izzy has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to further our hopes of a euthanasia - free future in the overpopulated canine world.

Izzy will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 10/18/2024. If interested in this very sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Izzy, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
