If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I found Amara almost 4 years ago at a gas station late at night. She looked to be a stray. I took her home with me that night to give her a bath, give her food, water, and rest. I took her to the Roanoke regional shelter and found out she didn't have a chip and no owner. I felt responible for her amd did my best to take care of her since then. With my current job I've had to move around and a lot of temporary housing does not accomodate pets. I want to make sure she goes to a loving home like she deserves.
Amara is a 100% sweetheart. Very independent and loves people. She can also be very affectionate and playful. But most of the time she just lays around and wants to relax or sleep. She's been around other cats and can get along with them, but prefers not to be, it seems.
