Grandma
About 8yrs young
Female
Dachshund
13.5lbs
Grandma, Granny, Granny Goose, LBP (Loaded Baked Potato). Whatever you call her, she's just happy you're talking to her. Grandma is 100% a velcro dog and prefers to be wherever you are.
Don't fall in love with her just yet, there are some things you need to know about her lifelong needs. Grandma has an enlarged heart caused by "leaky valve syndrome" and needs to be on medicine for the rest of her life and that runs over $100/month. She also has only tolerated one type of food since she's been in foster care and that is about $50/month. So, on top of regular vet care and monthly preventative, she is a bit on the "high end" side as far as care goes
Grandma needs some dental work done, but that happening is dependent on how she does during her spay on November 18th, due to her heart condition - the vet will see how she tolerates anesthesia.
Rather than keep her in foster longer than the 3mos she has been already, we feel it's best to find her furever home now so she can settle and be comfortable before her spay. We cover her spay surgery and her dental, if she is able to have that.
Everyone that has met Granny has fallen in love with her instantly and she loves them back right away too - human and animal alike! She is a happy little lady and a true joy to know. Granny will sleep in a crate but absolutely prefers to be with her people. She demands at least 1 walk a day and loves a good car ride with the wind in her hair. Granny spent 8yrs having puppies but those days are behind her now, so she is soaking in her newly retired lifestyle. She is guaranteed to bring her family so much joy!
If you are interested in Grandma, please apply at the adoption link in the comments below or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved.
