My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & ACTIVE YOUNG GUY:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 45 lbs.

Hi, my name is Rover!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am so happy to be here!  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot and had fun too!  I was adopted but that home didn’t work out due to their change in circumstances and again, but the family realized they wanted a dog with a lower energy level, so I sure hope to find my forever family now – perhaps with you?

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and in my temporary home and I was friendly with them. I also loved the puppies I got to spend time with, in the prison/foster training program! So, if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals too! / I did well with the kitties in my temporary home, but they did not do well with me.  I also previously met a kitty at the shelter and appeared to be respectful when told to be, so if you have a kitty at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / I met children at Mostly Mutts and in my temporary home that were around 10 years old, and I liked them. So, if you have kids around that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I will bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I quickly became a volunteer favorite with my affectionate, happy nature and silliness. I’m a tail-wagger, who warmed up to the volunteers nicely, once I got comfortable with my new environment.  I am a people dog, but also have enough of an independent streak that I can entertain myself with toys, too. / My energy level is 5-7, with lots of fun energy.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners were good in the prison foster training program. / My potty manners have been good though I occasionally have an excitement tinkle.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play with toys and people alike and playing fetch is fun, too.  In fact, my MMU trainer builds ‘running around and having fun’ time into my training sessions – lol.  I love to give hugs and appreciate the fun play sessions with the volunteers. I did some digging in one of my temporary adoptive homes, so don’t leave me unattended in the yard please. / I get car sick sometimes (not always), so it’s good to have a towel in case that happens.  I can’t think of any other dislikes, except maybe the crate and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I’m looking for a wonderful home with a family who wants to give me my best life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
