My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit.

Delightful ray of sunshine, tiny and fun-sized, friend to all.

Would you look at this fun-sized little peanut! We can't get over how amazing this dog is, nor how tiny he is for a blocky-headed dog. Absolute squee, he's the very bestest and we're all so smitten.

Gerbil is right around a year old and a mere 30lbs, he's got a sweet and easy going demeanor with a little bit of puppy silliness with his dog buddies. He goes to daycare daily with his foster and has so many dog friends, he's thoroughly unfazed by nonsense and adjusts his play style to whoever he's hanging out with. He's gone to a couple of events at breweries and he gets an A+ for brewery dog skills, he just hangs out and makes friends with everyone he meets. Gerbil would love to find an adopter with dog friends, but he could do the single life as long as he gets to go see some dog buddies from time to time. We think he'd get along with a cat, but he may expect kitty to play rowdy with him so you decide if your cat wants to put up with young dog shenanigans. Kids? Oh heckins yes, but he is a small guy, so well-behaved kids who will be mindful where he is would be best.

This guy is a star everywhere he goes and we'd love to match him with someone who knows how to treat their dog like he hung the moon. Is that you? Visit southofthebully.com and apply to adopt Gerbil.

Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care.

Adoption Approval Process for South of the Bully

• An Adoption Application must be completed and approved. We call and check vet references to make sure any current pets are up to date with vaccinations and check length of time under vet care. We review all their current pets and ask questions about their temperament to make sure the dog they want to adopt would be a good fit. Once the interview process is complete, the final step is a home visit. Home visits are currently done virtually due to the pandemic.

• If a dog has been chosen, a meet and greet is arranged AFTER the application is approved. If they have other pets, we also like them to meet at this time, if possible.

• Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip.

• We offer training support and resources for the lifetime of the dog once adopted. Our contract states that if for any reason they cannot continue to provide care for one of our dogs that it be returned to our rescue.
