My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hide your picnic baskets, here comes Yogi!

Yogi is a darling 3-month-old boy who is the epitome of adorable. With his big floofy hair and little face, he is simply irresistable. He is a little shy, so he is looking for a family who will be patient with him and help him gain more confidence. Yogi currently weighs around 6lbs and will likely be around 20-30lbs when fully grown.

Yogi came to us after being found as a stray with his brother, Pepe, and brought to a local animal shelter. The boys were both super scared, so we wasted no time to scoop them up and make sure they were safe in foster homes. Yogi and his brother have been doing great in separate foster homes and would do best being adopted by separate families to ensure they get one-on-one socialization and training.

Yogi is the braver of the two boys and has discovered that humans mean lots of tasty treats. He has turned into quite the little cuddle bug and enjoys snuggling with his foster mom after a day full of fun. His favorite pastimes include playing fetch and wrestling with his foster sister. He is an always-on-the-go little guy and needs an active family who can keep up with his puppy enthusiasm.

Yogi is still very much a puppy and needs a family dedicated to continuing his training. He would love to go to group puppy classes to make new friends and to help build a bond with his new family.

Yogi loves the other dog in his foster home and we think he would do best in a home that has another playful, confident dog to help show him the ropes. We haven't seen him around cats, but he may do well living with cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Due to his shy personality, Yogi would do best in an adult-only home.

Yogi has been doing well with his housetraining, but he still is learning and needs a family who can continue with his training and expect accidents. He has been doing well being crated overnight and when home alone. Yogi currently lives in an apartment and could do well in a home with a yard, or an apartment with proper exercise.

Yogi is such a wonderful little man and we know he is going to make a great buddy for that perfect family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!

Yogi's adoption fee is $450.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
