My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Porter & Rudy
Bonded Pair (Will only be adopted together)
Porter is 12 pounds and 5 years old
Rudy is 19 pounds and 9 years old
Fostered in LaGrange, NC

Short list: Friendly, playful, sleeps in the big bed, loves toys, great on a leash, good with kids over 5, good with cats and dogs, needs single family house

With Porter and Rudy it isn’t double trouble, but double the love and fun. This bonded pair with Rudy as the leader of the pack is simply amazing. They were loved and adored by their owner who suddenly passed away. Her son cared for them for several months, but had to make an emergency relocation for work and was sadly unable to take them.

The word sweet doesn’t really do these guys justice. They are great meeting new people and love to snuggle with their foster mom. They have always slept in the big bed with their people and have requested a new home with Porter and Rudy size spot in the bed. And Porter loves belly rubs – even rolling on his back to get more. And if you aren’t giving them the amount of attention that they think they deserve, they both do the adorable meerkat pose.

Both love to play with toys and each other, especially Rudy. They are good on a leash and like to go for walks. Because they both bark for a few minutes (they do settle) when their people leave, they need a single family home. Rudy is totally housetrained, but Porter is working on it still – he’s made great progress in his foster home, but still has a ways to go.

Both boys are neutered, hw negative, up to date on shots, microchipped and had a dental. Because Porter had bladder stones several years ago, he takes cranberry supplements and eats a urinary food. We did an xray of Porter’s bladder just to be safe and it’s free of stones. Their new family will need to travel to NC to adopt – no transports. We prefer to adopt to families in NC, VA, SC, DC, eastern TN and northern GA. To get the application process started, fill out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org/application

Everyone who meets these guys instantly falls in love with their sweet and silly personality. And we know that you will also!
