Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we read the shelter notes on Migs, our 5 year old 80 (he's 15 pounds over weight currently) pound pitty mix, we were suspicious. We had never seen a dog described as "delightful" so many times. But, then we met Migs. He's so happy that anytime someone looks at him, Migs' body melts into wiggles. Considering what he's been through, being this happy is astounding. We can't wait to get this honesty DELIGHTFUL dog his real forever home.
Migs was found stray early this year with extensive wounds consistent with chemical burns (see the last photo). He walked right up to the animal control officer asking for love anyway. We took Migs in to help with his healing. After weeks of bandage changes and antibiotics, Migs grew back most of his hair. He still has some scars but he's comfortable now and looks great in a t-shirt. Migs was adopted and we all cheered for him. Sadly, Migs' adopter recently decided they couldn't take care of him anymore. And Migs is back with us, through no fault of his own.
Migs loves all dogs, both on leash and off. He's never met a stranger and is great with people. Migs is a little exuberant, so small kids may get knocked over, but he's not shown a shred of aggression. Migs is crate trained, good in the house and potty trained (he'll helpfully grab his tail and spin in a circle by the door to let you know when he has to go). Migs enjoys walks, especially the bit where he can carry a stick, but he has to wear a martingale collar instead of a harness due to his scars. He knows many commands and is happy to learn more. Migs is even good with cats! Did we mention he's delightful?
Migs is heartworm negative and current on his vaccines and preventatives. To try and get this guy the happy ending he really deserves, we aren't asking for an adoption fee.
We know Migs' story doesn't end with us. His forever person is still out there. Is it you? Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
