My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Penny is currently in the shelter, and she is available for foster or adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **
Penny is a scruffy little cutie with a heart full of sweetness! This adorable girl may take a little time to warm up to new faces, but we promise that once she settles in, she'll show you her goofy, silly side! Penny loves to zoom around and play, bringing joy and laughter wherever she goes.

After spending months in a shelter in Oklahoma, she's ready for her chance at a real family right here in Chicago. Penny would absolutely love a good walk and some quality time with you! She also loves other dogs and matches energy levels with ease + understanding!

Come meet this charming girl at our shelter-she's excited to find her forever home and share all her love with you!

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
