My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This happy boy has a big orange-cat personality! Cato can be shy at first but warms quickly with sweet words and respectful touch. Cato is fun & playful with a mischievous smile, and looks deep into your soul to figure out which way you will toss his toys. This ham is curious and engaged, attentive and alert with a cool-chill vibe. He investigates most any noise. When you say hello, his tail goes up into a graceful question mark. Cato loves to play-fight & wrestle with his sister Kai, and hides under the packing papers, ready to pop out and pounce or play. He’s part ninja. Cato gets the zoomies through the house, chases things that roll, and carries toys around (mice), including towing a shoestring (which his sister chases). Cato loves to climb the cat tree and enjoys scratching on the vertical sisal and cardboard floor scratchers. Cato LOVES catnip – bunny kick toys beware! He likes to lay in the window ledge to watch the birds & bugs outside, but also enjoys watching anything you are watching on a tablet – he seems to understand touchscreens. Cato has a full voice, talking a little to you or himself, and chirps or trills at mealtime. Cato chills out by snuggling with you, laying on you or near you, or with his sister, although you can pick him up and nuzzle him at any time without fear. Cato has a quiet to medium loud purr; he will head butt you when you stand; he is a gentle biscuit maker.

Cato and his sister Kai were born to a young mama, Mumbles, who was discovered abandoned herself as a tiny kitten by a kindly neighbor. Their sweet momma is small framed and it’s believed they were the only two in the litter discovered in April 2024. They were lovingly nursed by momma indoors, and engaged with the family’s sweet Border Collie & other cats. Rather than allow the neighbor to take them to a shelter, a foster took both kittens in at about 11 weeks old. Cato had an above-average beginning in a calm, loving environment allowing his sweet disposition and confidence to develop. He has rarely been alone and calls for companionship when he is. He is fully vetted and healthy, and ready to love a family of his own! They are not really bonded but he would do best with another cat.

Born 4/8/2024
