My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Millie is a 4-year-old female yellow Labrador Retriever. She was surrendered to the Shelter as she was a bit too much for her original family. Millie is looking for a very active family who can commit to consistent training. She is very jumpy, likes to steal and destroy socks/shoes, and often needs reminders of her manners. However, Millie is very food-motivated and is a fun dog to train! With consistency and proper exercise, she will be a great sidekick. She enjoys playing on the agility equipment in our dog yard. Millie loves people and dogs but may be too much for dogs who don't enjoy running and playing. She loves to go on long walks and play fetch in the yard. Her favorite thing in the world is breakfast time. She is spayed and fully vetted.

If you want to adopt a dog, please complete our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months and 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

More about this shelter

The Medfield Animal Shelter's mission is to rescue lost or abandoned animals and provide for their comfort and safety until they are reunited with their owners or placed in new homes. We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home. We are committed to ending the overpopulation of pets that results in an estimated 5 million companion pets being euthanized at shelters in the U.S. every year, therefore all cats, rabbits and dogs adopted from us are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. We also sponsor a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats at our shelter once a month.
