Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Johnny is a sweet Beagle who has really blossomed in his Virginia foster home. He enjoys meeting new people on walks and gets excited to see his friends at the vet. He likes being petted and praised but is not really a lap dog- he prefers to sit beside you on the couch or lay in his dog bed. Johnny very much enjoys the companionship of the other dogs and follows their lead. He is fine with the cat there. He’s housebroken but will need reinforcement in a new home; he tolerates a crate and is used to being in the crate for short periods of time when no one is home. He likes to sleep in his foster’s bed at night curled up in a ball. Johnny is a low/medium energy dog and does not need a great deal of exercise. He’s fine with a couple of leisurely walks but also enjoys running and playing in the fenced yard. He’ll be a great little Beagle companion. Johnny is about 8 yrs old and weighs about 26 lbs. He'll arrive in Massachusetts in mid-October.

More about this rescue
Coonhounds make wonderful pets. They are very sociable and affectionate and get along well with families and with other dogs. Outside of New England, coonhounds are mostly used for hunting and are often discarded and undervalued if they turn out to be poor trackers or are not needed anymore. Our mission is to educate people about the suitability of coonhounds as pets; to provide support to coonhound owners; and to re home as many coonhounds as possible .
