My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bandit is a handsome Redbone Coonhound puppy who was found stray with his brother Dodger ( already adopted). He's a sweet hound who is engaging with new people. He walks well on a harness lead, has no issues around other dogs, parrot, or chickens. He's a good eater, rides well in the car, and is pretty mellow right now but can show his puppy energy. He is working on house training and leash walking. We are seeking a home where Bandit will have a canine companion and a fenced yard. Bandit is about 11 months old and weighs about 45 lbs. Bandit is available for visits at his foster home in Connecticut.

Go meet their pets

We often have booths at dog related events and have trail walks throughout New England where you can meet some coonhounds and beagles and their owners. Watch our website for details.

More about this rescue

Coonhounds make wonderful pets. They are very sociable and affectionate and get along well with families and with other dogs. Outside of New England, coonhounds are mostly used for hunting and are often discarded and undervalued if they turn out to be poor trackers or are not needed anymore. Our mission is to educate people about the suitability of coonhounds as pets; to provide support to coonhound owners; and to re home as many coonhounds as possible .
