My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our stunning 4-year-old wooly-coated Siberian husky, a true gentle giant with a heart of gold and a coat to match! This gorgeous black beauty is ready to bring joy, love, and a touch of Arctic majesty to your home. With his striking appearance and endearing personality, he's sure to capture your heart from the moment you meet him.

Our husky boy is a social butterfly who adores human companionship and gets along swimmingly with other dogs. He's a affectionate soul who melts into puddles of happiness with belly rubs and hugs. His sweet nature shines through in everything he does, from his enthusiasm for walks to his playful antics with toys. This clever canine is not just a pretty face – he's highly intelligent and picks up new skills with impressive speed. Already well-behaved on a leash and responsive to several commands, he's eager to continue his education with a patient and loving owner.

While this handsome fellow has had a challenging past, he's blossoming in foster care. He's learning to relax outside of a crate, though he may pace a bit before settling down – a habit he's steadily overcoming. His luxurious coat, once matted, now gleams after professional grooming. His new family will need to continue gentle brushing sessions to keep him looking his best, along with regular groomer visits. This low-key pup isn't much of a barker, but he may whine a little when feeling anxious. He's fully housebroken, travels well in cars, and is comfortable in a secure wire crate when needed.

The ideal home for this magnificent husky would include an experienced, confident dog owner who can provide strong, loving leadership. An active lifestyle with daily walks or hikes would be perfect for this energetic breed. We recommend continued obedience training to help him reach his full potential. A securely fenced yard of 5 or 6 ft. tall is essential, as he's more of a clever escape artist. If you're ready to welcome this stunning, affectionate, and intelligent companion into your life, we'd love to hear from you. Get ready for a lifetime of love, loyalty, and adventure with this one-of-a-kind husky!

More about this rescue

Rescue, Retrain, Redeem, and Re-home.
Redemption Road Rescue Rehab Inc (aka R4) is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization based in Lake County, Illinois. R4 functions as an all-breed and ages, dog and cat rescue that specializes in behavioral training and rehabilitation. We are a professionally operated nonprofit dog and cat rescue run by certified dog trainers. We believe the solution to “difficult” animals cannot just be euthanasia. Our mission is to place dogs and cats that have undergone our rehabilitation program with responsible, reliable, and devoted owners. Our training specialty is centered in dog behaviors and understanding the canine mind. We take in all breeds, all ages and work with domesticated felines and feral cat colonies as well. Our expectations of adopters: 1- Consider the animal as an individual with their own personality and behaviors. 2- Be willing to learn, ask questions, and implement training into their daily routine. 3- Work alongside our team to prepare their home to provide the best environment for their new family member. R4 is 100% volunteer-run and foster-based and relies on donations, fundraisers, grants, and sponsorships to allow our organization to fulfill our mission to animals in need.
