Dog sociability: After proper introduction, Sparkler would likely be great with dogs!
Cat sociability: Yes, Sparkler has lived with 4 grown cats in his foster home. He has always been very respectful of them, backing off when they hiss or growl. He needs a home with another cat friend!
Kid sociability: Yes, Sparkler has consistently been around a toddler during his time in foster care. He is a bit afraid of the toddler energy, but he is always very sweet with them and never scratches or bites.
Likes: Balls, spring toys, wand toys, cat trees. One of Sparkler's favorite activities is getting groomed by and snuggling with one of the cats in his foster home!
Dislikes: Not being fed fast enough when he thinks he is hungry!
Bio:
Sparkler has always been the most vocal of his siblings while in foster care! His personality came out within hours of being in his foster home, and it has only continued to grow as he has gotten more comfortable. He is very insistent for pets, purring and kneading his paws before he has even gotten close to a person! Sparkler loves to cuddle with his brothers and other cats in his foster home, but he most likes to snuggle with people! Sparkler is simply the sweetest, most cuddly boy and will be the best cat for anyone with another friend for him!
The adoption fee is $150. All cats are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

More about this rescue
One Tail at a Time (OTAT) started as a backup plan for dogs that were not getting adopted or rescued by other groups in the area shelters. Over the years we have experienced consistent and steady growth: we are among the top transfer partners for dogs at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) and for cats at several open intake shelters in Indiana, we have a robust transport program in which dogs are rescued from high-kill shelters in southern states, and we are even able to pull dogs from a rescue partner in Tulum, Mexico to help them get adopted in the Chicagoland area. Our growth has been, and continues to be, due to the overwhelming support received from our community.
Members enable us to take on complex medical cases and continue to grow our annual intake numbers. Volunteers have continued to line up to foster and care for dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, to take on leadership roles, and to help build One Tail at a Time into a well-known and respected rescue organization in Chicago and beyond.
Due to our continuous growth and immensely supportive community of members, volunteers, fosters, adopters, and more, we have evolved into the One Tail at a Time Cooperative!
