Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gully is a charming and affectionate middle-aged boy who is ready to find his forever home. After a kind-hearted good samaritan brought him to the shelter, he has transformed from a scared and nervous newcomer into a sweet, friendly cat who thrives on love and attention. Gully's nervous temperament and unique dietary needs make him a great companion for a calm household with adults and older children who can appreciate and respect his requirements. If you're searching for a loving feline who flourishes with patience and affection, Gully is eager to bring joy to your life. Together, you can create a serene and nurturing space where he can feel secure and adored. If you are unable to adopt, please consider helping support Gully and their friends by clicking on the donate button below his profile. It would be pawsitively awesome!

At CAHW, we have a program called "Meet Your Match" that is a short questionnaire to help staff match adopters with their perfect match!
3.
Submit Application
Applications typically take 72 hours to process, but may take longer if we are unable to complete certain aspects of the application.
4.
Approve Application
Once an application is approved, we ask that the animal is picked up within 72 hours of the approval. Appointments must be made for pickup.
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
At this time, the approved adopter will receive all medical information regarding the animal while in the care of CAHW.
6.
Pay Fee
7.
Take the Pet Home
We love photo updates for any and every animal that is adopted. CAHW does a 30 day post-adoption follow-up.
Additional adoption info
We ask that potential adopters inform their references, veterinarian office, and landlord (if applicable) that we will be calling in order to minimize the wait-time for callbacks and allow applications to be completed within the 72 hour time frame. Families are encouraged to meet with the animals several times to build a bond before adopting and while the application is being processed- this is not optional for a few of the dogs currently being housed at CAHW due to nervous energy.

More about this shelter
Formed in 1913, The Center for Animal Health and Welfare (formerly the Northampton County SPCA) is a private organization. We are not affiliated with any other SPCA or ASPCA. We are not a government agency, but are a non-profit organization with a 501c3 status.
In 2003 we committed ourselves to saving lives and became a no-kill shelter. We are dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for animals. We have improved our foster program, increased adoptions and offer a low-cost spay/neuter program.
Fund raising, donations and bequests make up 90% of our income and we apply for many grants. Adoption fees, relinquishment fees, memberships and agreements with some of the local municipalities, to take in their strays, generate the rest of our revenue. Although we greatly appreciate the help from the municipalities that do support us, not all do. Northampton County contributes about $5,000.
Financials
We are responsible for a $900,000 operating budget annually.
Our major costs are:
Veterinary care
Medical supplies
Kennel supplies
Spay/Neuter expenses
Insurance
Utilities
Payroll.
Adoption
We make every effort to find loving homes for these scared and lonely pets. We do not set a fixed time limit on animals, but keep them for as long as they remain adoptable.
