My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baby Boy is a standout feline at the Adoption Center – he’s purr-fectly handsome and looking for love!

This sweet Persian cat couldn’t be more photogenic if he tried! He’s a big fan of playing with new friends to get to know them, and he’d love to chat with you all day about his favorite toys and treats. You’ll usually find Baby Boy basking in the sun and soaking up some rays, but he is always down to get some attention and love from his people!

Adopters should be aware that Baby Boy has feline leukemia, or FeLV, which is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system. To ensure he stays healthy, he may need an additional trip to the vet each year. Our medical team will be happy to share more about his medical history and expected future care when you apply for him.

  • Baby Boy needs to be the only cat in the home, or he can live with other cats who also have FeLV.
  • Baby Boy has previously lived well with other cats.

*The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.*

**The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet.

Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**

More about this shelter

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.
