Meet Brandie, a young and vibrant soul. She's a bundle of love and sweetness, wrapped in a shy and submissive demeanor. A comforting lap is her favorite place to put her 18-pound body. She is insecure and a bit needy. Her friendly nature shines through, even in her quietest moments. With a heart full of love, Brandie is always ready to give and receive affection. She's a perfect companion for those seeking a loyal friend, a silent confidante, or a joyful playmate. Despite her shy disposition, she never hesitates to show her love. She's the kind of friend who's there for you, no matter what. Brandie is looking for a forever home where she can share her love and sweetness. We haven't seen her interact yet with children or other animal and we will need guidance with house training and leash walking. It's all new to this young girl. She would make a wonderful addition to any family, bringing joy, love, and a unique companionship that only she can offer. Adopt Brandie and bring home not just a pet, but a friend for life. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.

Any dog/puppy adopted at the same time as a cat/kitten will be adoptable at a $20 discount.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
