RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE 5PM 10/10/24 Name: Basil Animal ID: A847874 Age: 2 years Weight: ~ 45 lbs. About: Basil is a happy, carefree girl who loves people and other dogs alike. She’s super friendly and bouncy, and just a big puppy at heart. Basil can be a little bit barky in her kennel, but don’t let that deter you from meeting her- she’s just excited and will win you over in an instant! Basil is a social butterfly, especially with other dogs. She loves going to playgroups and shares her kennel politely. Basil quickly warms up to new people and enjoys spending time outdoors. She is even learning to sit for a treat, showing that she is eager to please! Basil previously lived with a pack of dogs who did not have a secure yard and were often at large. During one of these outings, Basil’s pack got into an altercation with a dog being walked and the situation resulted in a person being bitten multiple times by the pack. It’s critical to note that Basil did not intentionally bite the person in this incident; this was a byproduct of the altercation among the dogs. It’s also important to note that pack mentality does not define an individual dog’s behavior. This was Basil’s first incident and her first time at PACC.
Basil is a loving, social dog who simply needs the right home and a safe, secure environment. She is still young and has all the potential to be a wonderful companion. She is sweet and eager to bond with people and be your best friend.
What Basil Needs in Her New Home: •A secure yard to prevent any unsupervised escapes. •Monitoring when she is outdoors to ensure her safety. •A patient home with other well-behaved dogs that can be a good influence. •Careful management to avoid situations that could lead to trouble.
Adoption Process: Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM Thursday, October 10th deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group, to start their process. Have the rescue contact PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov. If you`ve connected with a rescue, please inform PACC for coordination.
Collaboration with Rescue Groups: PACC`s Role: •If you haven`t contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups about your interest and request their assistance.
