Meet Autumn! This beautiful petite girl is scared and trying to understand indoor life. Autumn has had a tough start in life, so she needs a calm environment and a family that understands that trust takes time. She is about a year old and has a gorgeous long haired white coat. A quiet household without young children or loud noises would be ideal for helping her feel safe and secure.

What Autumn needs most is someone with a big heart and the patience needed to help her come out of her shell. She is the mother of Chuck and Larry (also up for adoption) and they have been coming along so well.

The first step in our process is to fill out our online application at our website, www.care4strays.org. Once received, it will be reviewed by one of our trained volunteers. If approved, we'll be in touch to arrange a "meet and greet" with the animal. All of our cats/dogs are in private foster homes.

More about this rescue

Since our founding in 1995 by Lynn Cancro, Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc. has worked to find “forever homes” for abandoned, unwanted, neglected, or abused companion animals.

All the animals in our care are in foster homes, which helps socialize the cat or dog and allows us to identify the best type of home for each animal to ensure a successful adoption. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats with our Trap-Neuter-Release program. In addition, our team also strives to educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to decrease the number of unwanted pets.

C.A.T.S. is not a shelter in the traditional sense; we rely on private foster homes to house the many unwanted animals in our care.

Our Resale Shop (80 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ) helps fund our efforts. Please consider donating to our Resale Shop. Donations of brand-new and gently-used items are needed year-round and can be donated during shop hours Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00.
