Meet Sage, Forest’s adventurous sister and a Husky mix with a unique, cat-like personality. Sage is very aware of her surroundings and often takes moments to sit in the doorway, calmly watching the world pass by. Independent by nature, she’s not afraid to go off on her own little explorations, making her a curious and confident pup. But when it’s time to play, Sage’s playful side shines through—she loves batting around balls and tossing toys into the air, catching them before settling down to chew.

Here’s a look into Sage’s daily schedule, which she shares with Forest and her other sister:

• 7 AM: Sage greets the day bright and alert, ready to explore.

• 8 AM: Breakfast is served, consisting of wet food, kibble, and warm water.

• Morning Exploration: After breakfast, Sage's love for playtime is evident. She enjoys a mix of playtime with her siblings and solo exploring. She’ll venture off on her own or sit by the doorway, curiously watching the world outside, or find a cozy place to lie down with a toy. Unlike her siblings, she often takes time to soak in her environment before diving into the action.

• Mid-Morning Nap: Once she’s satisfied with her explorations, Sage takes a little nap to recharge.

• Lunch (1–2 PM): After her rest, she enjoys lunch before tossing around her favorite toys, including balls she can catch and chew on. And wrestling while 'play-growling' with her siblings.

• Afternoon Play: Sage will run about creating her own fun, which can include tearing up the puppy pad, chasing after her siblings, or 'sneaking up' on a ball or stuffed toy.

• Dinner (7–8 PM): After a day of exploring and playing, she enjoys dinner, followed by a final round of play.

• Evening Wind-Down: As the evening quiets down, Sage might sit in a doorway, content to watch the world pass by, or make her way to the back of the crate for alone time before settling in for the night.

Sage is the perfect mix of playful and independent, with a curious spirit and an affectionate heart. She is very aware of her surroundings, smart (and mischievous!) and will want to have her family close by - even when she is off exploring.

Sage is only an option for a home that has a dog previously. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 6.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
