Thyme is a 3 month old Miniature Schnauzer x Husky mix who is ready to spice up your life! Thyme and her siblings came into DPS at 4 weeks old with Mama Spice after an accidental litter led to a homeless little dog family. Dad was larger than Mom, we suspect, judging by their growth spurts! Thyme was fostered separately from her siblings as she had a leg injury that we treated with love, care. and a dash of modern medicine! We expect Spice to be in the 25-27 pound range when she reaches her adult weight. She’s worked on her best poses and is ready to wow you! Now, she’s ready to meet you.. just in time for stew season!

Thyme is a happy go lucky gal with Dumbo ears and a personality absolutely bursting out of her little body! She is super smart and full of life, always ready for whatever the day brings her! She loves being in the center of the action and trots along after her people as they go about their day. However, like any Husky, she’s also totally content to keep herself occupied when she needs to. Thyme is super food motivated and excited to learn all she can, so prepare to wow the neighbors with her book of tricks! Thyme loves her toys and has a large collection of favorites. She would love to expand her collection with you and raid all the dog stores! Thyme is super playful and would be the best buddy to join you on all the adventures you have planned. From hikes to trips to the park for games of fetch, she’s strapping in and ready for it all! Thyme would love a home where she can soak up all the love and attention her family has to offer her. She can’t wait to check off her lengthy bucket list with you! Thyme would love a playful canine sibling in her forever home but she would also be just fine as a solo dog (as long as you’re ready for nonstop playtime). Thyme’s fabulous Dumbo ears make all her emotions look even cuter, as they move to show her emotions in the silliest way. Thyme has such an amazing spirit and is full of all the puppy love you would ever think to dream of!

Thyme is fully awake by 8 AM. She heads out for a potty and then soaks up snuggles until she’s ready for breakfast. She’s more of a grazer so she nibbles at it throughout the day. After she has a snack, her foster mom works on training for 20-30 minutes. She’s a smart cookie and loves this mental stimulation. She then keeps herself occupied for a few hours with her toys in her playpen. She also loves joining her foster mom at work, riding in the golf cart or playing with the coworkers! After work, she gets another short training session before she naps as her foster mom makes dinner. She eats her kibble (and an extra treat or two) and then heads outside for practicing potty. In the evening, Thyme plays with her toys and gets lots of snuggles and attention. She’s a star and boy does she know it! She then hops up on the couch for cuddles as she starts to unwind from the day. After one last potty break, she goes into her pen for the night where she dreams of her forever family!

Thyme loves her canine foster sibling who weighs around 90 pounds but she gets along with all dogs, large and small. She doesn’t do long walks quite yet as she’s still getting strength back on her leg, but she loves her short jaunts around the apartment complex. Thyme is great about using potty pads and when she’s taken outside often she does potty outside. Thyme’s forever family should be prepared to continue her training and socialization, but she’s gotten a fabulous start from her foster home. Ready for a new adventure? You’re just in time for Thyme!

Thyme is an option for homes with prior dog experience, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9.
