My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Voici Donatella !

Meet Donatella! She arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in June 2024 after being found outside in the Hochelaga Maisonneuve neighborhood. She was abandoned by her former owner on moving day... That's right. Such a beautiful cat, left behind like an old piece of damaged furniture. She's a sweet, gentle cat, very calm, likes to stay on the sofa, the bed, any soft place. She likes to watch the birds through the window. She's an independent cat. She doesn't like to be held, but loves to be stroked. She would not be a good match for a family who has children at home or wants children in the future. Unfortunately, Donatella is a FeLV carrier: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-leukemia-virus. She hasn't been in contact with other cats at the shelter, so we don't know her character with other cats. For this reason, we are looking for a family without other cats. Donatella has FeLV, the adoption fees for her are $100. She is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and for feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within thr first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.

Go meet their pets

We hold weekly adoption clinics at pet supply stores throughout the Montreal area, and the South Shore to find permanent homes for our cats and dogs.
