My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl is named Ada. Ada is comfort on four paws, she’s a gentle, mellow girl seeking a gentle, quiet and kind home. She would make a wonderful work from home buddy, a great family dog, a fabulous retirement companion. She is a cuddly calm girl, ready to enjoy the finer things in life with you- couch snuggles, milkbones, and lazy mornings spent in bed.

We think Ada is a husky mix of some sort, around 2 years old. She currently weighs in around 60 pounds, all legs and ears. Ada has partial iris heterochromia, with one half brown, half blue eye.

Watch Ada here: https://youtu.be/T0zCnoJB0pQ?si=PmVqqT7n5fu-elE2

Ada is a weighted blanket. She’s a true lap dog, that will stay in your lap all day if you let her. She adores snuggling, more than any dog I’ve ever met. She’s incredibly gentle about her love, with no hard tail wacks or pushy paws in sight. When Ada meets a new person, she’ll calmly sit next to them, and softly, politely lean into their legs until they pet her. Ada is so friendly, so gentle, and so loving. It cannot be overstated. She’s an unbelievably sweet dog, the kind of dog that makes non-dog-people reconsider the whole species. Watch her video to see her love for yourself.

Ada is dog friendly, and does well coexisting with other dogs. She isn’t overly playful with other dogs, but does well meeting and socializing with dogs. We think Ada would do best with a mellow male doggy sibling, or as an only dog. She’s a very relaxed dog, and an energetic dog would likely not be a good match for her, or her for them. She does well walking by dogs on leash, even when they’re barking, snarling or growling at her. She has wonderful leash manners, and settles quickly at your feet once you’ve stopped walking.

Ada has impressive house manners. She’s not a counter surfer, or a pillow stealer, she is relaxed and confident in a home environment. Here at the rescue, we have not seen her have any indoor accidents. Ada is such a gentle and sweet girl, she takes treats very gently too. Ada is such a welcome presence, a soft and cozy dog just looking for her forever family.

Ada’s perfect home would have at least one loving human to call her own, a couch for her to snuggle on, and a calm atmosphere. We think Ada would make an excellent family dog, with kids old enough to respect her boundaries and be gentle with her.

Ada is such a loving and warm dog, and we hope to see her in her forever home soon. With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Ada with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
