Jango, despite his super handsome looks, is a special dog that requires a very special home. He needs an experienced, patient adopter that will set him up for success. Please make sure you thoroughly read his bio before you apply to adopt him or put in a meet request. He has strict requirements for adoption and those needs must be met for him to thrive. Jango is simply a stunning boy with a gentle heart. He is around 7 months old and we believe he is a mix of Spaniel, Collie and Shepherd. While only 28 lbs, he is tall and will have some more filling out to do as he gets older. Jango is a shy boy that is cautious and careful in new situations and with new people. He is not a dog for a first time dog owner and will need an experienced adopter with experience in young and shyer dogs. With time, he warms up well and bonds very closely to his family. He gives soft kisses and likes to be pet and loved on. He does startle easily and will need a calmer household without children under 10 years old and without lots of people coming in and out. Jango is great with other dogs and likes to play with them. He will need another dog sibling in his forever home to help him to continue to grow and learn how to be a family dog. He thinks cats are fun to chase and play with so no kitties for this boy. Jango is housetrained with a yard, crate trained and walks well on leash. He does like to occasionally playfully nip at his family for attention or when excited and has a taste for shoes so there is still puppy in this boy. He needs firm but gentle correction as he is quite sensitive but given too much leeway, he is very smart and tries to get away with what he can without boundaries. He needs a calm, well established, firm pack leader that will guide him towards success. He loves squeaky toys and you will often find him carrying his red squeaky bear around the house. As a young and active dog, Jango tends to be higher in energy and needs a home with his own yard to run around in. His foster mom takes him for 2 to 3 long walks or jogs every day plus playtime in the backyard with other dogs and mental enrichment via training, fetch, and puzzle games. Once he gets his energy spent, he is good to chill out and either chew on a stuffed toy or take a good long nap. For Jango, he needs an active, experienced family that recognizes he is a young busy boy suited for a home with a big yard and with another dog and not looking to have children soon. Jango is a very special, sensitive boy that is looking for an equally special home that can be patient and kind with him but also continue his training and socialization.
