My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a Good Samaritan.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet our little friend Jess! Kittens are spunky and adventurous creatures most of the time, though some kittens like this little one are under socialized, and can be a bit shy. This often happens when they don't have many positive interactions with new people while they are tiny, developing babies. They can often be overwhelmed by loud or chaotic environments, and will benefit from a quiet, patient, and respectful home. Having another kitten or cat to keep them company can teach confidence, appropriate play, provide companionship, and give them a fantastic outlet for all their energy. All kitties should have a small environment set up in their new home with food, water, toys, scratching surfaces, and a litter box to get used to how things go bump in the home. Grab a carrier and come on in if you'd like to adopt one of our little friends today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
