My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pico is a domestic longhair who came into our care in May of 2024 as just a little kitten with an EXTREME double-eye infection! With extensive treatment we did everything to save at least one of her eyes but the infection was so bad, the only healthy option was to remove both. Despite this unfortunate life event, Pico has ALWAYS been a extremely outgoing and tough little girl! She is VERY playful and LOVES to wrestle with other kitties her size! She extremely in love with wand toys and although she is blind, her parkour skills are A-1!
When meeting new animals, she can be a bit hissy but it's only because of her lack to be able to see the new scent of the other animal so she will need a very slow introduction to whatever resident pet she will be meeting to ensure that they get a chance to adjust to each other confidently.

If you are interested in meeting Pico, please submit an application at www.valleyanimal.org

More about this shelter

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.

We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.

Our mission is to unite dogs and cat with loving people but it does not simply end at the adoption process. With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
