Hey, Merlin here! I may not actually be a wizard, but I can still make your life magical! I am an energetic boy that has just had terrible luck finding my forever home. I've been brought to the shelter a few times in the last year or so for one reason or another, and unfortunately, no home ever really stuck. The main thing that people had a hard time with my energy level and anxiousness with lots of commotion. I prefer a quiet yet active home, and my previous ones did not fit that. I am a good boy - very smart too! I just need someone that is willing to work with me on basic training. I am young yet, so it may just take some time and patience while I grow out of my puppy tendencies that I still have. I am a hound, so be prepared to deal with some barking, but let's be honest, that's kind of a package deal with my type of breed! I have lived with other dogs in my previous homes, and for the most part, I did well with them. However, some dogs here at the shelter do overwhelm me. I would need to be properly introduced to any new dogs that I would potentially share my home with in the future. I also lived with cats in the past but did have a tendency to chase them at times. I am a bit jumpy and mouthy when I get overexcited, so it would probably be best for me if I shared my home with older children if any. I am friendly with all people, but I just may be a bit much for some. Think we may be a good match? Ask to meet me at the shelter and find out! Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 64.6 Age: 1yrs 5mths 2wks

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
Please call shelter for adoption pricing.
