My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME. PLEASE CALL 815-858-2265 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET PENNY* I transferred to Safe Haven from Louisiana, unfortunately I already had heartworm. I have been on exercise restrictions and have finally finished my treatments. Now I just need to be retested at certain intervals to ensure I am heartworm free! When I came to Safe Haven I was pretty nervous and scared, but with the help of my foster family I have become comfortable getting into the car, I like car rides now! And I dont shy away from new people and situations like I used to, it is fun to meet people and other dogs. I love toys, I take all the toys and make a little pile of them so I can get them easily when I want them. I am a very curious and silly girl once people get to know me, it would be great to get to know you too. I make appearances with my foster brother at events around Jo Daviess County, so keep your eyes open for upcoming Safe Haven events. If you are interested in adopting this wonderful 2 year old 60 pound girl, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us atsafehaven1471@gmail.com. Additional adoption info

Once an application is approved, we ask potential adopters to come to the shelter to visit the pet or pets they are interested in. If it seems like a great fit, then we would have you fill out the Adoption Contract and provide you with the pet's medical chart, some of the food it is currently eating, and offer any advice we can on that individual cat or dog.
