For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Gertrude's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Gertrude's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=008049) to learn even more about Gertrude!
Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Gertrude is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org.
Gertrude (aka Gertie or Trudy, dealer's choice) is 88 pounds of pure love. If she could spend every moment on your lap getting belly rubs, she absolutely would. She's an expert kiss-giver, cuddle-receiver, and weighted blanket.
Gertie recently came from the NYC ACC, where her belly-up cuddle requests made her a favorite amongst ACC staff. She has now begun her weight loss journey and is hoping to lose nearly 20 pounds to help her move around more easily and generally be healthier and live longer! She enjoys a good chew, is excellent in the crate, good on leash, and although we haven't seen her yet with kids, we have a feeling she would be a gentle lovebug with them.
