My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilo is a small girl at about 25lbs. We believe she is a corgi mix but can't be certain. She's done well with dogs her size so far and we are testing her with larger dogs and cats.

She's SO sweet!! This playful little girl has been so affectionate with her fosters and the new people she meets. She will be receiving her vaccines and a check up soon but she is accepting applications.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Before meeting a pet, all adopters must submit an app for review to see if they qualify and if their lifestyle matches the dog.

2.

Home Check

A volunteer will call potential adopter to ask additional questions and schedule a home check, following a meet and greet with the family.

3.

Approve Application

If home check and meet abs greet go well, we approve the app and will schedule a day that works best for a foster to adopt 14 day trial.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

After trial if family and the DHRA feels you are a compatible match, then we will complete the process with the final adoption contract.

5.

Pay Fee

Once the adoption contract is signed adopter is required to pay adoption fee immediately via check, cash, or credit/debit card.

Additional adoption info

We reserve the right to refuse any adoption we consider unsatisfactory. Please be aware that all applicants must be at least 21 years old to adopt from Doghouse Rescue Academy and that we require a home check before we proceed to start foster/adoption.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

If you see a pet you are interested in, please fill out an adoption application and we will reach out to you and arrange a meet and greet and continue the adoption process. Also please keep in mind that not all dogs listed may be available; some dogs may be on a foster to adopt trial and will be removed once the trial is completed and the adoption contract is signed.

More about this rescue

We are the Doghouse Rescue Academy and Education Network, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit - we are more than just your typical Rescue. We are animal advocates and rescuers, we rehabilitate and we re-home. We educate the public on resources that are available to them, spay & neuter, and offer training. We are working very closely with rural high kill shelters and pull dogs to completely get them to see a vet, evaluate, rehabilitate and re-home.

We will be offering/sponsoring free spay & neuter clinics as well as working on grants to assist our shelter partners.

We believe that partnering up with the other rescues for the greater good of the animals is the best way to operate. We donate when we can, cross post potential rescues, sponsor, and offer training to all of our rescue partners.

The Doghouse Rescue Academy is 100% volunteer run. We are a foster based rescue that relies on donations from the public.

Check back often for updates, available dogs, news, and more!

To all of our followers, we thank you for your continued support and love! It takes a village. Together we will make a difference!
