My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young pup looking for her forever home!

MIRABELLE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Mirabelle          Best Guess for Breed:   Husky/shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age:   4 years old        SEX:    female

Approximate Weight:  62 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We have tested Mirabelle with some of the cats at the shelter, and he/she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Mirabelle could live with a cat, he/she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We haven’t seen Mirabelle with kids, but he can be tested!

Special Considerations: Mirabelle is a truly Lucky Dog!  She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.

Currently Living at:  SC Rescue Campus - needs a foster or adopter!

Mirabelle is Looking For:   Meet Mirabelle, a beautiful husky/shepherd mix with an abundance of love and energy to share! Mirabelle is the perfect mix of playful and sweetness. Her captivating eyes and plush, double-layered coat make her as striking as she is affectionate. Mirabelle is an adventurer at heart, always ready for a hike, a run, or an exciting play session. With her friendly disposition, Mirabelle gets along well with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
