This helps Thrive Animal Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
Our sweet Rip had a hard life - he was adopted from a high kill shelter as a puppy where his original family returned him back to the same high kill shelter just a few months after adopting him as they were unprepared for his large size. He was just hours away from being euthanized this time around due to lack of interest from the public before caring advocates swooped in to save him.
Personality: He gets his endearing name from "ripping" around - he is full of life and just loves to romp around and play with his new doggie siblings at his foster home. He gets along with dogs both big and small and has a great temperament and demeanor both with dogs alike and humans. He is an incredibly loving boy who is just happy to be loved back.
Training: He has been bounced around from place to place before coming to us at Thrive, causing for him to become anxious and slightly destructive when left alone. We don't know just yet if it's actually separation anxiety, or just him decompressing in his new digs since going from place to place, or simply being a large high energy dog who becomes frustrated when he's bored and turns to things that he can tear up (like blankets). Regardless, we're committed to help him through his stress and show him that we're here to stay. The anxiety and stress that he does display is mild, but still something to note.
The perfect forever family: Rip would do great in an active home with someone to hang out with, go on adventures, and play with other doggie friends. We're not sure how he'd do around young kids or cats.
Rip is safe and loved in his foster home while he awaits for a committed forever family.
