Hello. I’m Caliente, but you can call me Nacho if that’s easier to remember. Just look at my beautiful ginger tabby coat and my charming white shirt—I’ve got quite the dapper style! I’m a loving guy, but I’m also quite independent. That means I don’t need constant attention; I'm perfectly happy with a few toys and a cozy spot to play and nap. Just a few head scratches and I’ll reward you with some fantastic purrs that will brighten your day. Oh, and here’s a little fun fact: I absolutely adore playing with my best buddy, Pippin kitty. We’re a dynamic duo, and if you have room for my 3 and a half-pound ball of energy friend, we promise to keep you entertained for hours! Some animals shown are rehoming courtesy posts for the current owners, and other animals are available for adoption through Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs).

All animals in the care of FRAs have their annual vaccinations, sterilization, FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. You must sign an adoption contract when adopting a pet through FRAs.

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter.

Our organization has grown to 400 volunteers supporting both the Rowlett Animal Shelter and the Garland Animal Shelter. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events, sponsor heartworm treatments program, operate our own cat rescue program, and so much more!
