My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone!! I would like to introduce you to our girl, Maliah. Maliah is a gentle and affectionate dog, with curious disposition on life. She likes to sniff out her surroundings and take in the scenery. Maliah is definitely a laid-back girl, who would enjoy simply lounging in her free time, and I'd have to agree with her! She's got an old soul, and would thrive in a quiet, slow-paced environment. If you consider yourself a bit of a couch potato, you and Maliah would get along just fine!

Maliah is currently living with a volunteer foster family. Please copy and paste this form into your browser if you're interested in meeting her: forms.gle/pj317JttC7s38ibQA

More about this shelter

The South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS) incorporated in 1970 as a small group of volunteers who brought homeless pets into their homes and worked to find them permanent homes. From those humble origins, we grew to a 501c3 nonprofit organization operating a 19,000 square foot animal resource campus in Matteson, IL that takes in more than 4,000 pets annually, a Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, a Low-Cost Veterinary Services Clinic, and a variety of far-reaching community services. The SSHS annually impacts 20,000 pets and the people who love them through these programs.
