My name is Maggie. I am a completely beautiful girl and a lucky dog!. I was running around the fields of Texas when some samaritans saw me. I didn't look too great - I was skinny, it was clear I had been in quite a few scuffles with probably different animals as I looked for food and water, I was dirty and of course, flea infested. My hero came out to the field one day to see if I would come towards her... well... it took me about 10 seconds to come out and hop in her car! I laid my head on her lap and took a deep breath. I knew I was on my way to my new life! I have settled in so well into my foster home. I got cleaned up, vetted and introduced to all kinds of different animals - chickens, cats, dogs. I am good with all of them. I am best friends with a female dog about my size. I also love the 8 year old I live with; I think she's the best. I am housebroken, smart, and crate-trained! I know how to sit already and I am really obedient. I also ride well in the car. I can absolutely live with other animals but my humans needs to realize I fought for food for quite a while out in the open. Therefore, I am a bit protective... with management and time, that will fade away but I am still worried another animal will take my meals (can you blame me?). However, I have no food protectiveness with my best dog friend... I guess I have learned to trust her already; still working on the others! I could do great as an only also as I would love to soak up all the attention. Oh, I can walk on a leash too. I am so loving and deserve all the comforts of life. I am about 8 to 9 months and 45 lbs - still filling out a bit but almost at my optimum! If you are interested in me, please fill out an application here! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/
