Nessie is a 10-month old, 9lb pound female chihuahua mix from Texas. She has adjusted very well during her time with her foster family in Brooklyn. Nessie enjoys exploring the neighborhood, meeting and greeting with other dogs, playing, and snuggling. She is doing well understanding “no.”
During her time with her foster family, she has been working on house training. She mostly goes outside but is still adjusting to a new routine and diet and has had a few accidents. Nessie is working on her leash skills. She was afraid to walk at all her first day in the big city, but now she enjoys being outside and walking. She does get distracted and stop a lot, but there is a lot to see and get used to.
Nessie is a sweet, playful, affectionate pup. Her forever family will need to continue working with basic training to reinforce and advance the progress she’s been making. Nessie has done well in her crate during the day and night. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found curled up in her donut bed.
Nessie is looking for a low key or medium active family. She appreciates downtime and active moments. She would do well with a doggie sibling or by herself. She does well with her canine foster brother.
Nessie would do well in a home with respectful children.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply for Nessie, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application.
