Meet Cookies N' Cream, the sweetest girl who captured the hearts of everyone at the NYACC!

Cookies N' Cream is three years old and is a very loving, happy, playful pup who deserves a forever home where she can feel safe knowing she'll never be abandoned again! She is medium energy and is happy napping or playing with her toys while you work, but loves long walks exploring the neighbourhood or park to get her energy out.

After an incredible 217 days in the shelter, she's crushing life in the outside world! She quickly conquered her fear of stairs and the crate, and we're so excited to see what else she tackles now that she has the love and confidence to thrive!

A few fun facts about this sweet, affectionate, wiggly pup:

This is one smart Cookie! She curently knows sit, down, crate, bed, paw, and is working on "drop it" and "leave it".

Cookies walks great on a leash! She may pull for a second if she gets excited by another dog or wants to grab some particularly smelly "street trash", but she responds very well to her name or a quick correction and gets back on track easily.

She loves to be cuddled and play with plush toys! She hasn't destroyed any so far, and loves to toss them to herself then chew softly.

She is working on resource guarding, which is understandable given her long history in the shelter! We are working with a trainer to help her realize she does not need to be protective of her things, and that there is enough to go around. Because of this, we recommend that Cookie be the only dog in the home, and have owners who will continue to build up her confidence.

Cookie is fully house trained and has had no accidents since being in foster care.

She is crate trained and will sleep throughout the night without a peep :)
