My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jack!!!

This sweet boy was a local pull from Connecticut. He was found living in a home infested with fleas and cockroaches. He lived with cats and kids and did awesome!!! We knew he needed our help so he wouldn't have to go to the shelter here in Connecticut.

Jack loves to say hi to people when we go to the store, he's very respectful of other dogs if we see them out in the world. He'll crawl on the floor towards them and lick them. He loves to run and wrestle with with his foster brothers in the fenced yard. Jack likes playing with a rope toys and will squeakers. When he winds down he needs to be next to someone, touching them. He is just such a loving boy who deserves a family. He would love to go on all different kinds of adventures with his family. Jack is the type of pup that you could bring to the kids soccer games or even just on a vacation with you. He meets everyone with a waggy tail and his whole body is like a worm because he's so happy. Even if someone is cooking, he needs to be right behind them. He loves to give kisses. House trained but not crate trained. Knows sit but not other commands just yet. Basic training will be a plus for this boy as he is definitely a smart guy. He should learn basic commands quickly and will probably be the star of the class. When he's home with his people he'll chew on the rope toy or a bone or just lay on the bed/couch.

Jack is definitely a special guy who deserves best. He cannot wait to meet his forever family. He has so much love to give and cannot wait to receive it back from his new forever family. Jack, cannot wait to make lots of forever memories with you!!! Apply for him today!!!

More about this rescue

Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.

We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.

We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.

We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
