My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a furry friend who will light up your life with joy and love? Let us introduce you to Baxter, a charming 6-year-old Shepherd mix who embodies all the traits of the perfect canine companion. From his playful antics to his gentle cuddles, Baxter is a dog that will steal your heart!

Baxter has a personality that can only be described as goofy! His playful nature guarantees countless moments of laughter. Whether he’s chasing his toys or trying to catch a glimpse of his reflection, Baxter’s antics are sure to brighten your day.

One of Baxter's most endearing qualities is his affectionate nature. He thrives on companionship and is always ready for a cuddle session on the couch after a long day. His warm, loving demeanor makes him the perfect snuggle buddy, whether you’re watching a movie or reading a book.

Baxter is not just a dog; he’s a friend to all! He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and even children. His gentle nature makes him the ideal family pet, and you can rest assured that he’ll fit right in with your crew. Baxter’s social skills make him a great candidate for doggy playdates and family gatherings.

Despite his playful spirit, Baxter is remarkably gentle. He knows how to be soft and tender, making him a safe companion for families with children. Baxter is a great home and farm companion. He has experience with horses and following a 4 wheeler around the property as chores are done. He also loves car rides!

Additional adoption info

For Pet's Sake Rescue wants to insure that every animal goes to a forever home that can provide their every need including future medical care should they ever need it. For this reason, we ask each person interested in adopting to complete an application. The application requests information about the potential family including their home and occupants, as well as requests a vet references. If you do not have a vet reference, please contact us directly at adoptions@forpetssakerescue.org. During Covid-19 our home visits are changed to a video chat to insure safety of the animal.

We reserve the right to refuse an adoption. Most often times we know these animals on a personal level and can foresee it not being a good match for them though there are times when we have to refuse an adoption if there is a lack of comfort with the party.

Required: Completed application, photo ID with current address or an article of mail going to your current address in your name, and home video chat. We do not waive this process for anyone.

Adoption fees can be paid after you are given an approval. Invoices are emailed via PayPal. The deposit or transport fee holds your pet. Adoption fees are not refundable if you change your mind. Please be sure!

Do not complete an application if you are not sure you want a pet.

More about this rescue

For Pet's Sake Rescue is currently based in Long Beach, Mississippi.

This rescue specializes in feline rescues though occasionally take in miniature pigs and canines. Our goal is to provide strays and abused animals a safe haven to heal, become adoptable, and get a true chance at the life they deserve.

Our rescue focuses in healing animals and teaching them pet-like behaviors during their time with us. We spend time with each furbaby individually to learn their personality and make sure they are matched with the right family.
