My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Demi and her sister, Madi, are a bonded pair of sisters. They enjoy playing together with toys and tunnels and then taking a long cat nap curled up next to each other on a chair, couch or cat tree. The make biscuits on fluffy blankets. Demi is more outgoing and confident than Madi, but with Demi’s help, Madi is becoming more comfortable with her human family. These girls need a patient family that understand they will be a little shy at first, but once they settle in they true personalities will blossom.

Demi and Madi have been raised with other cats and a gentle large dog. They would do well in a home with older children.

If you would like to meet Demi and Madi, please email their foster family directly at  mariward@comcast.net  for a fast response.

You can meet Demi and Madi at Pet Food Express, 5405 Ygnacio Valley Rd, Concord on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:30am and 2pm. Email  mariward@comcast.net to confirm they will be at the adoption event.

More about this rescue

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
