My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is an adorable, intelligent cattle dog with tons of energy! She seems to adore every person she meets and will greet you with a wiggly body and a big smile. Sally enjoys making dog friends but does have quite a rough and tumble play style and will likely do best when paired up with tolerant playmates who share a similar play style. She's eager to please and attentive to her human handlers--a great prospect for anyone excited about training and getting out and about with their dog.

Sally's behavior is true to her breed and she has displayed strong herding instincts here at the shelter. Cattle dogs like Sally often communicate with their mouths and may be inclined to chase small animals and playfully nip when excited.

If you're looking for a friendly and exuberant dog to keep you on your toes, Sally might be just the one for you! You can meet Sally and other available pets during our open hours, Wed-Sun from 1-6pm.

More about this shelter

At the shelter you will have an opportunity to meet and visit with your potential new companion. Spend as much time as you need getting to know an animal. Adoption counselors will work with you to help find that perfect pet, but bear in mind that this may often require more than one visit. We are continually receiving new animals and evaluating their placements. If you do not find that perfect companion the first time you visit, you are sure to find him or her in subsequent visits.

An adoption counselor will answer all your questions and review important information with you. They can help you decide what size, age, breed and temperament will most successfully meet your expectations. They will review information about your pet's adjustment to his or her new home, housetraining, health concerns, vaccinations, nutrition, training, grooming, etc.

Because adopting an animal is a family decision, we ask that when possible you bring your entire family, including any resident dogs, to meet your potential companion.

The entire adoption process can be time consuming. But spending time getting to know your future companion and asking any questions before taking your new companion home will help to ensure a perfect match for the years ahead. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the process of bringing pets and people together!
