My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Sade is in the process of getting adopted **
Age: 2 years old
Weight: 3.6kg / 4.4lbs

She's spicy, she's sweet, her cuteness can't be beat, it's Sadie! And while she may be a pretty kitty, she's also a bit of a handful! When Sadie first arrived to the shelter, she was a very protective, feisty mama who calmed down once her kittens were weaned. Now that she's had some time in the spotlight, Sadie has shown that she can actually be super affectionate, curious, and playful but has a short fuse. This means that she would do best in a mature home with no young kids who may not be able to recognize when Sadie needs alone time. Another quirk of hers is that she doesn't like it when people touch her safe space; if she's in her hide, it's best to leave her alone until she decides to come out! If you like your cats a little zesty, then Sadie just may be the cat for you!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
